The Citizens Fire Company # 1 Inc. of Highspire is actively looking for Social Members, Firefighters/EMR's/EMT's, Active Administrative, and Honorary Members!

Here are some differences between the types of membership:

Social Members: May join in and take part in most social activities of the Company i.e., Fundraisers and Community Events.

Firefighters/EMR's/EMT's: Respond on all Emergency Calls, participate in training and help with functions.  Firefighters/EMR's/EMT's will be issued a set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), any and all classes for the Fire Service will be paid by the Department. 

Active Administrative Members: Assist at all functions and participate on the Administration Committee, and take an active part in running the fire company.

Honorary Members: Are not required to participate in the functions but are strongly encouraged to help if available.

If you feel that you could help us in anyway, please stop by the station anytime and ask for an application or go online here, on our website to print out your own. If you have any questions feel free to contact us via phone (717) 939-5111 and ask to speak to a Chief,  Line Officer or President.

 

WHTM 27 News and the Kiddie Fire Systems  

As part of the ABC 27’s Operation Save A Life, The Highspire Fire Department has FREE smoke detectors available to residents. Residents who are in need of working smoke detectors should call (717)-939-5111, to schedule a time when firefighters can come out to your home, and install the smoke detectors FREE OF CHARGE.

Company 55 and mutual aid units were dispatched for a possible Structure Fire. Units arrived to find light smoke condition. Crews determine it to be a Trash can in bedroom smoldering. Units were placed in service. Thanks to all mutual aids. All Crews did a Great Job.

Shorlty after 11am this morning Engine 55 responded with a crew of 8 to a working house fire in Middletown. Damage was sustained primarily on the 2nd floor and attic area. One person was home at the time but got out safely. Job Well done all crews involved!
